Measurement

Welcome back and Happy New Year!
We are currently working on a measurement unit. Students have so far been introduced to standard and non-standard units, relating units of measure (e.g. 1m = 100cm), and perimeter.

I would like students to answer the following questions in their math journals by Friday, January 9.

Use what you know about these shapes to help you answer the questions.

1. What is the perimeter of an isosceles triangle with two sides of 8 cm and 1 side of 5 cm?
2. What is the perimeter of a rectangle with sides of 5 cm and 10 cm?
3. What are the side lengths if the perimeter of a square is 24 cm?
4. What are the possible side lengths if the perimeter of a rectangle is 36 cm?
